Frequently asked questions
What types of membership plans can I create?
Baluu supports three membership plan types: credit-based plans (members get a set number of credits per billing cycle to redeem against sessions), unlimited plans (all-you-can-book access), and status-based plans (members get tags that unlock exclusive pricing and members-only tickets).
How does recurring billing work?
All membership billing is handled automatically through Stripe. You set the price and billing cycle (monthly or yearly), and Stripe collects payments, retries failed charges, and handles cancellations. You get paid directly to your bank account.
Can I offer free trials?
Yes. You can configure a free trial period from 1 to 90 days on any membership plan. You can also choose whether to grant credits during the trial period so members can experience the full value before paying.
What happens to unused credits?
You control the rules. Credits can roll over to the next billing cycle (with an optional cap on maximum rollover), or they can expire at the end of each cycle. You can see every credit transaction in the member's history.
Can members manage their own subscriptions?
Yes. Members can access a self-service portal where they can update payment details, change plans, or cancel their subscription. You can also manage any subscription from your dashboard.
Do I need a separate tool for memberships?
