How the New Architecture Works

We have moved from a transactional model to a relational one. Now, every single booking, order, gift card, bundle, and membership subscription is tied to a single, unified customer profile.
- When a new customer books through your widget, a profile is automatically generated.
- When they return to book again, the transaction lands securely on that exact same profile.
- Update a customer's name, email, or phone number once, and it cascades everywhereβacross every interaction they have ever had with your business. No more orphaned records; no more inconsistencies.
π A Smarter, High-Performance Directory
Your customer list isn't just a basic table anymore; it is a fully rebuilt command center designed to help you actually manage a growing audience:
- Advanced Filtering & Sorting: Instantly filter your audience by newsletter opt-in status, specific applied tags, or even by which specific listings they have booked in the past.
- Bulk Actions: Need to update 50 customers at once? You can now enable/disable newsletter opt-ins or assign/remove tags across multiple profiles simultaneously.
- Seamless Import/Export: Upload contacts manually or via CSV to seed your directory, or export your dynamically filtered lists to a CSV at any time for external marketing campaigns.
- Unified History View: Click into any profile to see a consolidated timeline of their entire history: bookings, purchases, sessions, reviews, waitlist entries, and active memberships.
π·οΈ Intelligent Tagging & Segmentation
You can now manually add custom tags (like Beginner, Corporate, or VIP) to your customers to segment and organize them however your business requires.
This tagging engine shares a brain with our new Memberships feature. When a customer subscribes to a plan, the system automatically applies the membership tag. Manual tags and automated membership tags live side-by-side, giving you total visibility.
- Drive Promotions: Use these tags in our pricing rules engine to grant automatic discounts at checkout.
- Gate Access: Restrict specific ticket types so they can only be purchased by customers holding a required tag.
ποΈ Custom Customer Templates (Dynamic Data Collection)
Out of the box, Baluu collects first name, last name, email, phone, and marketing preferences. But every business is different. You can now build a Custom Field Template to collect the exact data you need.
Add custom fields to your global CRM schema using these supported data types:
- Text & Long Text: For freeform notes or dietary requirements.
- Number & Date: Perfect for numeric data, birthdates, or renewal tracking.
- Select & Checkbox: For predefined dropdown options or simple yes/no toggles.
- Formatted Inputs: Dedicated fields for Email (with format validation), Phone (with international country code support), and Address (with structured line 1, city, postal code, and country inputs).
The Checkout Integration: You can mark any of these custom fields as Required, and toggle Show in Checkout so customers are forced to fill in this specific information themselves when they book through your widget.
π§Ή The Merge Engine: Handling Duplicates
Did a customer accidentally use two different emails and end up with duplicate profiles? Simply select them both and trigger a Merge. The engine automatically takes all bookings, orders, gift cards, notification preferences, and conversation history from the source profile and securely reassigns them to the target profile. The duplicate is archived for your records, leaving you with one perfectly clean profile.
π‘οΈ Delete & Anonymize (GDPR/Privacy Compliance)
When a customer requests their "Right to be Forgotten," you now have the professional tools to handle it legally without destroying your financial reporting:
- Anonymize: This replaces all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) like name, email, and phone across every booking with an anonymous identifier. Your financial transactions and attendee counts remain perfectly intact for your records, but the person is no longer identifiable.
- Delete via Merge: Reassign their vital transactions to a generic profile and completely remove the original.
