Hey Everyone,
We have been working hard behind the scenes on our latest release, and I am thrilled to finally share it with you.
Today, we are rolling out one of the most powerful updates in Baluu’s history. We aren't just releasing new tools; we are giving you a completely new way to control your pricing and build lasting relationships with your customers.
We are launching four major, tightly interconnected features: Memberships, a completely reworked CRM, Multiple Booking Policies, and the beta of Tickets V2. These aren't just standalone updates—they are built to work perfectly together to transform how you run your business. Here is how:
👑 Memberships (Official Release)
You can now officially offer Memberships to your customers! This allows you to set up recurring payments and build a reliable, predictable revenue stream.
- Tags & Status: When a customer buys a membership, they receive a status tag. You can use this to grant them special discounts via our ticket engine or manage their access.
- Credits & Access: You can choose to give members unlimited access to your listings, or grant them a specific number of credits to use during their billing cycle. We will continue to expand these capabilities as new needs arise.
📇 The CRM Reworked: True Customer Profiles (Beta)
Historically, if a customer made two separate bookings with the same email, our system treated them as independent entities. If you updated their email on one booking, it didn’t update the other. That goes against the very idea of a CRM!
We have completely rebuilt this in the background. Now, you have Real Customer Entities.
- Everything is Linked: Bookings, basket orders, and gift cards are all tied to a single unified customer profile. Update their email once, and it updates everywhere.
- Custom Tagging System: You can now manually add tags to your customers to easily segment, track, and organize them. This seamlessly integrates with our new Memberships feature (which applies status tags automatically), giving you full visibility into exactly who your VIPs are.
- Merge & Manage: If a customer accidentally creates two profiles, you can now merge them. You also have the option to fully delete or anonymize customers to stay compliant with privacy laws.
- Custom Customer Templates: Want to collect VAT numbers, physical addresses, or birthdates? You can now create custom fields that apply to all your customers. You can even make these fields required when adding or editing a profile. (Down the line, we will integrate this directly into your checkout flow so it's even easier to gather data!)
📜 Multiple Booking Policies (Official Release)
Until now, you could only have one set of Terms & Conditions and one cancellation policy across your entire account. But we know that running a standard weekly Yoga class requires a very different cancellation policy than running a weekend Retreat!
You can now create Multiple Booking Policies. Keep your default policy for standard tickets, but create strict, non-refundable policies for special events or high-cost offerings, and attach them directly to the specific tickets that need them.
🎟️ Introducing Tickets V2 Engine (Beta)
As some of you may have noticed, there is a new Tickets V2 tab on your listing details page. This is our entirely rebuilt, bottom-up ticketing engine.
⚠️ Important Beta Notice: Any V2 tickets you create right now will not appear at checkout. Once we officially launch this feature, we will likely reset and delete all beta tickets. Please use this time to play around and learn the new system, but don't spend time fine-tuning live pricing yet!
Creating pricing can get complicated. Our goal with V2 is a simpler mental model: start with a base price, then apply conditions. * 1 Ticket = 1 Spot: We removed the confusing "guests per ticket" math. A ticket now takes exactly 1 spot (or 0 spots for things like baby tickets).
- Charge Types: Choose between Full Payment, Deposits, Pay-What-You-Want, or Free.
- Composable Pricing Rules: Add rules that change the price. For example: set an Early Bird discount of 5% if they book 14 days in advance AND the session is on a weekday.
- Validation Rules: Create checkout constraints (e.g., "Only allow a baby ticket if an adult ticket is in the basket").
- Built-in Calculator: We added a price calculator right on the page so you can test different customer scenarios and see exactly how your rules affect the final price.
🛍️ Add-On Groups & Advanced Checkout Rules
Sometimes you want to group Add-ons together and force the customer to make a choice. For example, if you offer wetsuit rentals, you can create a "Wetsuit" Add-on Group, and list the sizes inside it. Or, if you sell wine with your experience, "Drinks" is the group, and each bottle is the add-on.
You can now set Min/Max relationships on these groups to trigger different checkout behaviors:
- Min 0 · Max 1 (Optional single choice): E.g., "Add a gift wrap?" -> None / Standard / Premium
- Min 1 · Max 1 (Required single choice): E.g., "Select Wetsuit Size" -> S / M / L / XL
- Min 0 · Max 3 (Optional multi-choice): E.g., "Pick your toppings" -> Choose up to 3.
- Min 2 · Max 4 (Required multi-choice): E.g., "Choose 2 to 4 activities for your pass."
- Min 0 · Max 0 (Unlimited): E.g., "Extras" -> Towel, Water, Sunscreen. Pick as many as you want!
📧 White-Labeling: Custom Domains & Emails
Our goal is to make your brand shine, not ours. You can now add custom domains and custom email domains. Instead of your customers receiving automated emails from notifications@baluu.io, they can receive them directly from notifications@yourdomain.com.
✨ Additional Quality-of-Life Updates & Fixes
- Smarter Reminders: Running a 10-week term? You can now disable reminders for every single session. Choose to only send one reminder before the very first session begins.
- Standardized Phone Inputs: Phone number fields are now standardized and will automatically include the correct country code formatting.
- Web Components: We have added web components support to the Basket.
- Bug Fix: We resolved an issue where the basket was not properly fetching booking questions between Feb 27th and March 1st.
